Meet Dr. Susanne Macsay

Dr. Susy Macsay received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona and she also has a Dental Degree from the Copenhagen Royal Dental School in Denmark.
Dr. Susy grew up in Denmark and raised her two children in Greece for the first decade of their lives, before moving to the Arizona desert and entering Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, now called Sonoran University of Health Sciences.
Since 2008 Dr. Susy’s practice has been incorporating private as well as group practice including 4 1/2 years of natural and integrative cancer care, and over 2 years of Functional Medicine.
Dr. Susy lived in Puerto Rico for 3 years where she as a professor at the Naturopathic Medicine program created curriculum and taught several clinical didactic classes, plus served as a clinical supervisor for both general Naturopathic care and Acupuncture.
In 2025 Dr. Susy returned to Sedona’s breathtaking red rocks to join her friend and colleague, Dr. Jessica Hayman at Verde Valley Naturopathic Medicine, after previously practicing Naturopathic and holistic cancer care in town between 2012-2014.
Drawing from her expertise as a Naturopathic Physician and a Dentist (still licensed in Denmark/Europe), combined with her children’s food sensitivity and digestive issues and her own extensive physical injury history, Dr. Susy approaches the Mouth and Body as one organism, one being utilizing Naturopathic Medicine holistically in its entirety with nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, physical medicine and Mind-Body counseling. She furthermore ads in Acupuncture and Upledger CranioSacral Therapy, as well as pearls from Yoga and Ayurveda as an advanced Yoga Teacher.
In her free time, she enjoys Sedona’s and Verde Valley’s nature and hiking, movement (yoga, qi gong, dancing, etc.), meditation, cooking, writing, reading, listening to music and spending time with friends and family.
