PRP Facials & Micro-Needling

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Micro-needling come together to provide a facial treatment unlike any other.  The PRP treatment requires a simple blood draw.  Then, from the patient’s own blood, we harvest the Platelet Rich Plasma which contains important growth factors. This PRP is then applied to the area being treated and micro-needling is applied over top to help drive it into the dermis.  When the PRP is applied, it promotes the stimulation of collagen and elastin, which can be attributed to improved skin tone, texture, and integrity.  PRP facials are known to help reduce wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, skin discolorations, and scars. PRP is not just used for facials, it can be applied to the decollate, neck, and any other skin area that need this sort of attention. Dr. Bailey exclusively does the PRP skin treatments and the treatment takes approximately 1.5 hours. Typically, it takes a series of treatments depending on the individual's skin.

Micro-needling treatments can also be done using a serum rather than PRP as the medium applied to the skin. These treatments are performed similarly, without the requirement of the patient’s blood. The most common serum used at Verde Valley Naturopathic Medicine is an Organic Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid serum. Vitamin C helps build collagen in the skin and hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate the skin and build the connective tissue matrix.  These two ingredients in addition to the micro-needling invigorates the skin by creating an inflammatory response to promote healing.
